Protoman, also goes by Proto.

Update: In RV, he goes by the name Cain Note.

Character Type: Main.

Place of Origin:
Protoman is based off the Mega Man cartoons, although several months in the Nexus have changed him.

Armored Description:
Proto’s armor is red and gray. His forearms, pelvic armor, and boots are a bright red, while the rest of his armor I gray. He wears a bright scarf that is enhanced to keep it from ripping, staining, and burning. His helmet is rounded with dark shades attached to protect his optics, and has a white design around the visor.

Proto’s armor has been reinforced from its original state from technology from the X timeline and a future Toon universe, and his buster has been enhanced as well. Although he is not on the level of higher classed Maverick Hunters, his armor can withstand a few shots from highly-graded weapons. Power-wise, he is on the same level as his brother, Mega Man.

Proto’s buster weapon fires off electric blue shots, which he can supercharge or fire rapidly. He has a communicator in his helmet and a backup stored in his buster arm, as well as a teleporter. His armor can be removed manually or dismissed through a armor recall, which has both a systems hookup and a manual button, located again n his buster arm.

Update: Proto no longer wears his armor, and would rather not see it again. To fight, he wears a black, light-armored bodysuit and shatter-proof shades. As this leaves him open and weak in several places, he does not fight often anymore.

Unarmored Description:
About 5’5”, Proto has brown hair and blue eyes, resembling a 15-year-old teenager. His hair is rather spiky and does not respond well to brushing. His clothing tends to be in reds and blacks, along with his scarf and shades, and he’s taken to wearing a black leather jacket everywhere he goes.

Update: Having recently obtained a new body, Proto still has blue eyes and unruly brown hair, but he's taller, slimmer, and looks older. He wears shades and high collared shirts, as his scarf is no longer in his possession, and tends to wear dark tones.

-History and Personality-
Passing for Human:
Due to upgrades, Proto is anatomically correct and fully capable, although he does not have to expel waste. Because of his biomorphics, Proto’s ‘skin’ can bruise after taking a hit. When cut, he bleeds a dark oil; it does not resemble blood at all. Eating food is one of his primary ways to gain energy, and he must sleep on a regular basis. Proto looks human and feels human to the touch, but specified scans and medical evaluations will prove him to be robotic.

Backstory:
Protoman has had a history with the multiverse through exposure to the Nexus. He currently still works for Wily, and can be found running the old man’s errands from time to time. He was given the coordinates to Reality Vanish through his youngest brother, Pitch. Because he is not stuck in RV like some, Proto can come and go as he wishes.

Update: Having split from Wily, Proto now lives permanently in RV, preferring to keep his head down and his past unknown.

Personality in a Nutshell:
Proto is arrogant, hot-tempered, and tends to be close-minded. He is still immature in a lot of ways, and can be described as currently going through ‘robotic puberty’. He looks down on humans, although he’s not above dating those ones who are interested in him. His exposure to the Nexus has made him less hostile to humans than he once was, although if they get in his way, and he doesn’t know them, he won’t care if they live or die. He has a violent dislike of Fortes, because their existence poses a threat to his status as Wily’s right hand, and alternates, due to his sister’s reprogramming at the hands of one.

Proto’s friends are few and far in between, but those he does count as friends are people he trusts, human or robotic. He is fiercely loyal to Wily, and regards him as his father, even if the old man does not think of Protoman as a son. His family means a great deal to him; although he has had a falling out with his sister, he still cares very much for Pitch and Mega. Although he cares very much for Pitch and tries to keep the boy out of the fight, his primary focus is Mega, who he desperately wants on his side. If Mega isn’t with him, Proto claims he’s happy with the other bot’s destruction at his hands.

Update: Proto's personality has changed as time passed on, from his split with Wily, to his near death experiences, he's lost confidence in himself and has a tendency to let things get to him. He's still hot-tempered, but he struggles harder to contain it, and would just prefer to go unnoticed. He's also gotten quieter, realizing he's still very much a boy trying to live in an man's world. He struggles with depression at times, but life with Xao has helped him control that aspect as well.
